I'm quite excited to start posting again this year and using a lot of the supplies I've been buying lately, so with that, I wanted to create a card for this month's May Diva Dare over at the Verve Blog.
The Challenge:
This month's dare pays tribute to Diva Amber's (Stamping Scrapbooker) military service and Diva Laurie Willison's (Soapbox Creations) wonderful use of stripes on her cards. Also at least one Verve product on your creation! If you want to get really daring, you can add the extra challenge of making it a CAS card with it but it's not a requirement. There are 4 prizes up for grabs this month. Here is my card below:
Here I used some older Close to My Heart paper I had in my stash which had some cute stars in the background to get me started. Also, from the same pack, I cut out some paper for the stripes part of the challenge. The sketch design is my new Blueprint dies from MFT which I love. It comes with four sketches which this is one of them. My focus was to keep is clean and simple, but I love adding details.
For the star, I had some chipboard which I covered with paper and than went on to use the Scroll Die and Scroll Plain Jane image from Verve. The sentiment also comes from the Verve Stamp set called: With Love which is by the way on sale this month. Mounted the scroll on top of the star with some foam mount and added some basic rhinestones to give it a sparkle.
Again, there are 4 prizes up for grabs this month. To view all of the details and prizes available, Click Here to go directly to the challenge site. I have some more ideas for a second card, so hopefully I'll get that done and posted as well. All entries must be completed by May 30th. There are many inspirational ideas already there, so check it out.
