Challenge #34 - Christmas

What a fun site having Christmas all year long so I decided to join in with their Challenge #34 over at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long with a photo inspiration and anything goes week challenge. Plus this way I get more Christmas cards done for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Here is my card:
Since I just got these goodies, I figured why not use them and try to design something I can re-create fast and this is what I came up with. First I started with Spring Flowers Stencil from MFT and used white embossing paste and covered with a mix of clear embossing powder and red glitter.

Since I wanted the flowers a little more vibrant red, I colored over them with my copic red markers cleaning the glitter that was getting on my marker along the way, but it works. Marker looked fine when done.

Stamped this cute little girl from the stamp set: Jingle All the Way using my copics once again and focused on the colors of the photo inspiration (reds, green, white) and popped her up using foam mount. Sentiment came from the set Merry Messages which I just adore.

I continued playing around and almost added the cute little Christmas tree or some other embellishment but in the end decided to leave it as is and not add more since the glitter makes this card shine and didn't want to take away from it.

MFTWSC199 - Witch Way is the Candy ?

Finally back to making cards after a long time of not being able to use my right arm from a fall I had (broken), than I had to catch up on other projects for work and when I felt better I re-organized my craft area so I could see it again since I bought more goodies to play with which took a lot of time. Lots of organization which I will post soon. Thanks for letting me ramble, but now onto better things.

Wanted to join the weekly sketch card MFTWSC199 and than I saw Challenge 17 over at Always Playing with Paper for my inspiration on the color scheme but added some green, so I might try the sketch portion of the challenge since there is still time to join the fun.

Here is my card:
During my reorganization, I also took the Copic Online Card Class and absolutely loved it plus I learned so much and highly recommend it. So obviously I wanted to color something for this card and afterwards realized it covered up the squares on the right hand side from the MFTWSC199 sketch, but figured it would still work.

Here I used some retired DSP stash I had called: Frightfull Sight along with Concord Crush card stock and Peach Parfait along with this cute stamp set from My Favorite Things called: Which Way is the Candy and the matching dies to cut it out.

For the sentiment, I used the stamp set: Trick or Sweet from My Favorite Things and stamped it using Pumpkin Pie (SU) and than decided to decorate the inside using more stamps from this set and Which Way is the Candy?

Please make sure to stop over at the challenge sites as they have talented design teams which always have beautiful cards and terrific inspiration.
