VLVDEC2013 wk3 and Diva Dare - Peace on Earth

Happy Holidays to all!! I was so happy to have some time again to create more cards and working on the Viva La Verve challenge sketches. This one is for VLV Dec Week 3 sketch designed by Charmaine Ikach which I found perfect for creating another Christmas card I needed. In addition, another opportunity to join the Merry Monday #88 challenge of using an animal which was extended to Jan 2014 and the Dec Diva Dare challenge of using a favorite Verve stamp set.

Here is my card:
As I said in my previous post, I love my Verve stamp sets and have many favorite. Here is another one called Peace on Earth and love these little reindeers that have a matching die from the set: Unto Us. I only wish I had more time to make more Christmas cards. Another favorite are the seam binding ribbons from Verve, here I used the Signature Ribbon collection.

Here I used some Silver Foil Sheets along with paper from the Winter Frost Specialty by SU and hard to tell in the photo, but used the Snowflake embossing folder to create snow at the bottom for the reindeers to stand on. Also used my spectrum noir markers to color in the "Holy" section and added some crystal effects on it.

Sept Diva Dare & VLVSep - Something Special

Joining the fun for September week 1 of Viva La Sketch challenge VLVSep2013 and combining this month's Diva Dare Challenge which is to create a card or project using inspiration from a tic-tac-toe board.  For example:  x’s and o’s, hugs & kisses, squares, circles, grids, etc.

Here is my card below:

Right away, I went through my paper stash and pulled out Love Impressions by SU, which already had some X's and O's plus love & kisses to get me started. In addition, I had just bought the Open Scallop Doily by MFT so it was on top of my area ready to use for the first time.

From there, I used the envelope from the Take Note (Verve) stamp set as my center (middle) and focused on doing something diagonal across. This is when I thought to use the arrow up above and added the Joyful Blooms flower diagonally below. The leaves come from the set Bloom & Grow which is one of my favorites along with using the Elegant Leaves Die to help me cut it out.

Basically, it you look at it (Tic-Tac-Toe) diagonally (Flower, envelope, and arrow). Sentiment also came from the set Take Note (Verve). I must admit, this card was fun to make and a great sketch to work with. For more details on the Diva Dare Challenge, click here and join the fun!! For Viva La Sketch challenge, click here.

I always enjoy looking at many cards from different blogs and many times find myself looking at the supply lists and found that I love the visual pictures when they have them. Therefore, I will be doing my best to add the pictures of the supplies I use on a card as long as I can link to it.

Also, it's a good way to keep track of what I have (library). Let me know if you like the visual picture list of supplies used on a card?

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Take Note (Verve), Joyful Blooms (Verve), Bloom & Grow (Verve)
Paper: Love Impressions (SU),

Aug Diva Dare - A Birthday Wish

So happy to have a computer again after 2 weeks of nothing since my computer crashed...I went to turn on my computer and all I got was a black screen and was not happy that I lost everything I had on it, but I am happy that I can post my card for the Diva Dare Challenge. Although I'm borrowing a computer for now until I figured what to get and it's a challenge learning how to use it compared to mine. Moving on......

Here I used Mojo Monday Sketch 305 designed by Julee Tilman which I thought would be perfect for layers as per the challenge.

This month's Diva Dare challenge:
This month's dare pays tribute to Diva Andrea (Ewen Style), and Diva Christyne (Stampin' with Sugar).  Both Divas are known for the wonderful way they can add layer upon layer on a card.  So what we're daring you to create this month is a card using lots of layers.

If you want to kick this month's dare up a notch, you can add a flower cluster as per Diva Andrea, or go with a "sweet" theme as per Diva Christyne's blog name "Stamping with Sugar".  These are not required elements, but fun options should you wish to use them.  Just remember to use at least one Verve product on your creation!

Here is my card below:
Got to use some new DSP called Modern Medley by SU along with some new Verve stamps I acquired. This cute flower set is called: Sunny Days and I used the Goodness Flowers Die Set to help me cut it out.

Yes, I was playing around with different dies to see what could help me cut this cute flower and I found that the die is a perfect fit for the larger flower of this set. Tight but works.... For the smaller flower, I fuzzy cut around and popped it on top using foam mount. The sentiment comes from Verve: Joyful Blooms
As far as layers, I used Well Worn Die-namics from MFT and Spellbinders Labels 18 for the sentiment area using Crumb Cake CS, Cherry Cobbler, and than Whisper White. Sponge Daub using Pink before adding the sentiment in Black. For the leaves, I used Old Olive CS and Old Olive ink, fuzzy cut and layered underneath the flowers. Added red button to finish it off.

If you would like to join the fun, click here to go directly to the challenge and have some fun creating. Now off to see what I've missed with Viva La Sketch and the current Mojo Monday sketch to have some more fun playing with colors and layouts.
