VLV2014 wk2 - Great Friend Birthday Greetings

Had to use more of this fun paper from the More Amore Speciality and worked on another Viva La Verve Sketch. This one is week two designed by Teresa Kline.

Here is my card:
I've changed this card so many times between stamp sets, ribbons or no ribbon, etc. I'm sure we have all had these moments, but I had fun playing with all of the different elements. This card used the stamp set: Great Friend (Verve) along with Borderline (Verve) for the chevron look which was embossed in white.

Here I used several of my blueprint dies from MFT, blueprint 1, 3 and 5 along with the Flag it Die, and Elegant Leaves by Verve. I did do some fuzzy cut for the flowers and popped them up using foam mount in between. Added some liquid pearl for the center and there you go.

Like I said before, I changed this card several times so here is another picture of the same card, but with polka dot flower in the center. The reason for it was for someone who loves polka dots.
What do you think? Which one do you like better...with polka dots or without for the top center flower? Below is a full list of supplies used for this card.

Again, don't forget to check out the new Viva La Verve sketch challenge.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Great Friend (Verve), Borderline (Verve)
Paper: More Adore (SU), Brights DSP pack (SU)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Early Espresso
Inks: Early Espresso, Memento Tuxedo Black, Old Olive
Accessories:  Blueprints 1, 3, 5 (MFT), Flag it Die & Elegant Leaves (A Cut Above by Verve), Liquid Pearl, Foam Mount, White embossing powder

VLV2014 wk1 & Diva Dare - Twitterpated with Shimmer & Shine

Finally got some time to work on some cards and figured to start with Viva La Verve sketch challenge which has a new blog along with a new look. Here I also incorporated hearts for the Diva Dare challenge for the month of January 2014 "Smitten" and than saw their new challenge of Shimmer and Shine and thought to add some sparkles to this card.

Here is my card:
I've had this set for quite awhile called Twitterpated and when I saw Sarah's card over at her blog Thinking Stamps using this set, I couldn't resist but to use it myself and try more coloring again using my Spectrum Noir markers and than paper pieced her dress with SU bright color pack.

I've had this paper for a long time now called More Amore (SU) and finally opened it up and had some fun playing with the patterned papers along with silver glitter paper along with another Verve stamp set called: Borderline and some punches.

Don't forget to check out the new blog for the Viva La Verve challenge, you can click here to go directly to the challenge, for Diva Dare, click here, and for the Shimmer & Shine, click here. Have fun!!

VLV Oct Week4 - Borderline

I love banners and it was a great opportunity to play with some for the VLV Oct week 4 sketch designed by Christyne Kane.
Here is my take on the sketch and card:
Played around with some new DSP papers from the Subtles collection and is one of my favorite colors, Pool Party along with a new in colors (Baked Brown Sugar) cardstock by SU. They go so well together. Better in person compared to the photo, but I'm sure that's in all cases.

It's a fairly straight forward card without a need for any explanation, but hard for me to not say anything so......here we go:
Can you guess the stamp set? I'm sure you can, but just in case, It's by Verve and called Borderline which was on my wish list for the longest time and got a few months ago or so. I thought it would be perfect for this card along with the matching die, Mini Classy Label.

For the ink, I used Early Espresso (SU) and I got the little butterflies from the set: Twitterpated along with the matching die, All Aflutter. Whenever there is a matching die, it's a must since it makes it so easy to cut it out. Here I stamped directly onto Pink Pirouette cardstock.

To finish it off, I used Seam Binding ribbon by Verve's collection called, Stormy Skies Ribbon  which matched up perfectly for this card, button, and added some candy dots on the bottom right hand side.

Once again, don't forget to check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge thread for all the details on this monthly challenge and a chance to win a Verve gift certificate plus have fun in the process. What do you think of today's card?

VLV Sept Week2 - Little Boy Birthday Wish

Finally had some time to create a card and used the VLVSEP2013 week 2 sketch and joined the challenge. Actually, I had time to also work on week 3, but will get that posted soon enough as well.

Here are 2 versions using the sketch above:
I wanted to make my little grandson a birthday card and pulled out this cute paper by ctmh called: Tommy along with the stamp set: Borderline by Verve. Added the stars by using the Starry Die (Verve) along with Honey and Outdoor Denim cardstock by ctmh. Paper pierced the spellbinders circle and sponged daubed around using Desert Sand ink (ctmh).

After I finished it, I looked and thought to try again and focus more on a little boy and came up with the card below.
This card uses retired paper called: Animal Cookies (ctmh) that I've been saving for a long time just to work on little kid cards and came in handy for creating this.

Here I used Spellbinders Label Eighteen die as my center focus and coordinating stamp set called: Very Vintage Labels No.18 (Waltzingmouse) for the border line. The cute little elephant came from Verve called: Emery Plain Jane which I colored using spectrum noir markers and gave me time to practice coloring. Fuzzy cut and pop up using foam mount.

Stars were added using the Starry Die by Verve and sentiment is from the set: Big Wish (Verve)

Check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge thread for all the details on this monthly challenge.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I enjoy looking at the supply list via pictures that link when viewing other blogs as a helpful tool, so I figured to add them to my posts as long as I can link it up, at least the stamp set, paper, and dies. Again, let me know if you enjoy looking at the pictures of the supplies or just the text names?

Which one do you like better for a little 2 year boy?
