Repetition - For You on Your Birthday!

Needed another birthday card, so I decided to make one based on repetition from Lesson #11 over at the MFT Summer School along with Lesson #14 of color satuaration where I combined the low satuarated colors with the high saturated colors. Than as I was thinking of it, I remmember my friend loves shaker cards, so I incorporated that as well. Also joining over at Seize The Birthday

Here is my card:
Here I worked with Blueprints 23 and focused on using only the dies from this set to create my base and card aside from the flowers which are from the stamp set: Modern Blooms. I loved using the low saturated colors against the high saturated colors for the flowers along with the repetition of the flowers and circles.

For the pink, I used Cotton Candy and Ripe Raspberry, for the blues, I used Summer Splash and Tropical Teal, and for the orange, I used Peach Bellini and Persimmon.
After, I die the center white panel, I used the grid stencil to emboss it giving it some added texture. For the scallop edges, I used the Steel Blue cardstock. Next, I added some acetate and foam mount around the circles and along the edges of the panel. Added sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to match up with the colors of the flowers.
Here is a close up view of the embossed grid stencil on the white panel. Also, I used foam mount to pop up the flowers. Added the little yellow buttons with Lemon Chiffon card stock using the same Blueprint 23. Last but not least, added a white dot to the center of each flower using my white sharpie pen.

For the sentiment, I used the stamp set: Birthday Bears and white embossed it against black licorice card stock and used one of the banner die from blueprints 23 to cut it.

As always, if you haven't checked out the lesson or challenge, please stop over to check out all the inspiration.

Sending Hugs to Someone Special

Love the challenge this week over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog with  "Get in Shape". They don't mean diet and excercise, just no squares or rectangles. Therefore, I came up with this below.

Here is my card:
It's been a long time since I made an easel card, but this was so much fun to make and wanted to create something special for a dear friend of mine, so went on to create this card. Here is the view when the card is sitting up.

This is the top view of the card using several products. Started off with die-cutting a Cross Stitched Circle where I created the background by sponging on the color for the grass and sky. Next, added in the sentiment from the set: Big Scripty Greetings

Afterwards, I colored in this cute little girl from the set: PI Heart Bouquet using my copic markers where I than added foam mount underneath and popped her up. For the scallop circle card, I used the Bigz Die called: Circle Scallop along with Wild Cherry cardstock

Inside of the card:
For the inside, I cut out another Cross Stitched circle and than another circle using from the new MFT paper pack Dots & Strips. Also, to decorate the inside of the card, I used Modern Blooms stamp set where I popped up the flowers using foam mount so that when you open the card, it acts as a placement stand.

Once again, here is the finished look when the card is closed. Almost forgot, added some white details to the hearts with dots and stripes. As always, if you haven't checked out the challenge sites, please go take a look to see all the fabulous inspiration and creativity.

Your Fabulous - Thank-you so much!

Wanted to get one more card in for this week's SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge of  "Anything Goes" as this is also the last day for Kathy's 30 day color challenge over at The Daily Marker and wanted to dedicate this card to Kathy as a "Thank-you" for hosting this color challenge and for all the inspiration, tips, and lessons throughout the month as it's always invaluable.

Thank-you so much for hosting this challenge a second time around. I've learned so much again and appreciate all the time and effort you put into this 30 day challenge. I've enjoyed myself so much and meet so many wonderful talented friends.
Here is my card:
Here I started with creating a base panel using the Diagonal Stripes background from Simon Says Stamp and white embossed it first before adding color which was Tickled Pink ink. Next, I went on to create several flowers using different color combos using the set: Modern Blooms

Since I've been loving watercoloring, I stamped the sentiment down using the set: Simply Fabulous Sayings and used my new Zig Clean Color Real Brush to add some color over it using Light blue and very light yellow over it.

Framed the sentiment using the Stitched Rectangle using Kraft cardstock and added the flowers by using foam mount and adhering them to the frame. Last but not least added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

As always, if you haven't checked out the challenge site, please do so to see more inspiration and plus join in on the last sketch.
