Online Card Class - Day 4 More Backgrounds

Somehow as I was catching up on my homework for the Online Card Classes  Background Check I landed on Day 4 where Kristina Werner from Kwernerdesigntaught us to use border dies with gaps. I couldn't resist but to try this technique out based on her card.

Here is my card:
I just loved the way she created this with the clouds. On this card, I used the Clouds border die from Mama Elephant. For the colors, I started with Blueberry (MFT) at the bottom, next going upward, I used Salty Ocean (Distress Ink), Maliblue (SSS), Sea Glass (SSS).

Next card - Same Lesson
This idea was taught by Kristina to create your own cover plate die and add it to a background with some ink blending. In my case, I didn't have a similar die that I could find to create the cover up. Therefore, I went ahead and used the Triangle Screen Cover Up Die from MFT. More cards to come as I still need to finish them up.

Online Card Class - Day 1 Ink Blending Techniques

These lessons are always amazing over at Online Card Classes  Background Check where you learn various techniques and tips along the way. Lesson 1 focused on ink blending techniques and loved the various ways to create a background which is one of my favorites.

Here is my card:
This gave me a chance to play with some of the Simon Says Stamp inks where I started from bottom with Hot Lips, than Rosie Cheeks, Duckling, and Jellybean. This one is based on Laura's lesson and blending inks together to create a background. So much fun! Now to make it into a card.

Looks like they will be hosting a flash sale this weekend August 7th thru August 10th for any of their online card classes which are fabulous.

Celebrate Your Birthday

Wanted to try out one more technique from the latest Online Card Class: Masking with these gorgeous butterflies from Verve set: Die Sidekicks and incorporate some coloring for the 30 day color challenge Kathy over at The Daily Marker is having. Today is day 3 of the color challenge.

Believe it or not, this is a one layered card minus the sentiments which I embossed with white embossing powder on top of black cardstock from the set: Poppy Birthday. Also, I used my new Spectrum Aqua Markers to color these butterflies and love the look.

The background was created by using several distress colors, background stamp, and stencil. I really enjoyed making this card and playing with new watercolor markers and distress inks again.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set:Die Sidekicks (Verve), Poppy Birthday (Verve), Linen Background (MFT)
Card stock and Paper: Watercolor Paper (Crafter's Companion), Tropical Teal (MFT)
Inks: Black Licorice Hybird (MFT), Distress Inks, Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers, Grout Gray (MFT)

Sending Happy Birthday Wishes

Wanted to practice a new technique learned on the latest Online Card Classes and thought to create another Happy Birthday card. Plus, joining one more time over at the SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge with "Anything Goes" and incorporated some coloring for Kathy's second round 30 day color challenge over at The Daily Marker.

Here is my card:
Once again, this card uses little supplies and so much fun to do with all the different distress ink colors, but any dye ink pad will work. Used the stamp set from Mama Elephant called: Photo Bomb and colored them in using my copic markers.

Also used the "Sending" die from SSS along with the stamp set: Sending and Wishing and handwrote the word "wishes" at the bottom. If you haven't checked out the challenges, go check them out as all are fun and looking forward to more coloring.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Photo Bomb (Mama Elephant), Sending & Wishing (SSS)
Card stock and Paper: White (Crafter's Companion),
Inks: Black Licorice Hybird (MFT), Copic Markers, Distress Inks
Accessories: Blueprints 13 for the Stitched Rectangle (MFT), Scallop Border (MFT), Sending Die (SSS), Foam Mount Tape

Wishing You An Unforgettable Birthday

Wishing Maggie (IG username: Rahzicrafts) a wonderful Happy Birthday! and wanted to create a one layered card by using some masking techniques from the latest Online Card Class. For this card, I used the stamp set called: Unforgettable with all of these cute elephants and ballons as part of the celebration.

A few of the girls from Instagram came together as a little surprise to wish her a Happy Birthday! She is one of the sweetest people who always sends encourgement by leaving the nicest comments. Therefore, Happy Birthday Maggie and hope you have a wonderful day!

This card uses little supplies, which includes stamp set, distress ink, and colored with my copic markers, along with some form of masking. Joining the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with this week's "Anything Goes". As always, if you haven't checked out the challenge, go check it out to see all the wonderful ideas and inspiratin. Also, check out the new online card class masking as it has wonderful videos and techniques!

Day 1 of Holiday Card Workshop

I'm way behind on my homework, but at least I wanted to get 1 card up that I was able to complete so far. This one is based on day 1 inspired by Debbie Hughes video. I loved all of the supplies used in the Holiday Card Workshop 2014 but already own so many Christmas stamp sets and dies, I figured to use what I had instead and see what I can make.

Here is my take on it:
Started with Blueprints 13 since I'm loving the look of stitched on cards lately. Snowflakes are from the Decorative Strip Northern Frost from Stampin' Up. Tag is from Verve called: Sweet Scallop Die

Here is a close up
To get the splattered look in the back, I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (SU) along with a Platinum ink. Cute little circle with the little mitten is from the stamp set: Just For The Holidays (ctmh). Last but not least, the sentiment words are from MFT called: Christmas Greetings.

Loved all of the videos in class and still will be working on more Christmas cards.
