VLV Oct Week 5 - Layered Birthday Wish

For whatever reason, I keep getting a blank in my head when I sat down to start working on this sketch for the VLV Oct week 5 which I'm sure everyone goes through from time to time. Finally, something came to my head today after looking at several cards in blog land and my past collection of cards.
Here is my take on the sketch

Started with using Crumb Cake cardstock and Pretty Print Textured embossing folder as my main base to start. From there, I cut a Lacy Scalloped Circle in black, a circle using First Edition Specialty (SU) and than went to grab the mini classy label die to layer them together using foam mount in between. Lastly, added some prima flowersbasic pearls, and liquid pearl to complete the card. Sentiment came from Verve single stamp....it's such a cute font.

VLV Oct Week4 - Borderline

I love banners and it was a great opportunity to play with some for the VLV Oct week 4 sketch designed by Christyne Kane.
Here is my take on the sketch and card:
Played around with some new DSP papers from the Subtles collection and is one of my favorite colors, Pool Party along with a new in colors (Baked Brown Sugar) cardstock by SU. They go so well together. Better in person compared to the photo, but I'm sure that's in all cases.

It's a fairly straight forward card without a need for any explanation, but hard for me to not say anything so......here we go:
Can you guess the stamp set? I'm sure you can, but just in case, It's by Verve and called Borderline which was on my wish list for the longest time and got a few months ago or so. I thought it would be perfect for this card along with the matching die, Mini Classy Label.

For the ink, I used Early Espresso (SU) and I got the little butterflies from the set: Twitterpated along with the matching die, All Aflutter. Whenever there is a matching die, it's a must since it makes it so easy to cut it out. Here I stamped directly onto Pink Pirouette cardstock.

To finish it off, I used Seam Binding ribbon by Verve's collection called, Stormy Skies Ribbon  which matched up perfectly for this card, button, and added some candy dots on the bottom right hand side.

Once again, don't forget to check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge thread for all the details on this monthly challenge and a chance to win a Verve gift certificate plus have fun in the process. What do you think of today's card?

VLV Oct Week 3 - Butterflies

Finally got some time today to post my card up for the VLV Oct week 3 sketch which I finished last week and was happy to be on track, but didn't have time to take a picture of it since I've been super busy with a project, so today I grabbed the camera and clicked away...

Here is my card:
I love butterflies and when I saw this stamp set, So Fluttery by (Verve) I just had to get it. Here I stamped the butterfly with three different colors, Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight and used the matching die (Fluttery) to help me cut them out.

Than used the Floral Circle die along with Not Quite Navy cardstock to use as a mat behind each butterfly. Used the Award Banner Trim Die underneath, added some silver liquid pearl for more decorations added a cute sentiment on the bottom right corner.

VLVOct Week 2 - Make A Wish

Here is my take on VLV Oct week 2 sketch which is super cute, but for whatever reason I had the hardest time on deciding what paper, what stamp set, etc. I'm sure we have all been there. Well I finally decided and combined many elements. Here is my card:
Love this DSP paper: Gingham Garden (SU) and the cute little girl was perfect for me to practice my coloring with the Spectrum Noir Markers and blending with alcohol markers. Very fun to play around. The upper bow on the left hand side is called Beautiful Bows Die-namics by MFT. Used a 1" circle and 1 1/4" Scallop circle for the sentiment.

Here is a close up of this cute pure innocence stamp set called: Make A Wish (MFT) along with the new Award Banner Trim Die by Verve. Also, added some fun new Pastel Sequin Mix by Verve which worked perfect with this paper.

VLVOct Week 1 - Birthday Blessings Again

Such a cute sketch designed by Amber Hight plus I love square cards, so here is my take on VLVOCT2013 week 1.
Once again, I used more paper from the Pemberley paper stash (ctmh - now retired) which is nice to go through my stacks of papers and actually use it up. Stamp set is On Occasion by (Verve) and used the matching Die On Occasion to help me cut it out.

Ink and cardstock is Outdoor Denim and used a maker to add some accent color over the sentiment and border. Mat base is Desert Sand and used the Woodgrain embossing folder again (SU).
Finished it off with 1/2" seam binding ribbon (SU - Pear Pizzazz - retired) and button (Very Vintage Designer by SU).

Don't forget to check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge thread for all the details on this monthly challenge and a chance to win a Verve gift certificate plus have fun in the process.
