Saying Hello with some Butterflies

I'm back today but with some watercoloring and playing around with some distress inks to join in the bi-weekly challenge #103 Watercolor over at Marker Pop. When I saw the challenge, I thought it would be a perfect time to play with my Spectrum Aqua Markers, Distress inks, and play with these beautiful butterflies from Pretty Pink Posh.

Here is my card:
For this card, I started off by stamping these cute butterflies and sentiment from the Blissful Butterflies set onto a piece of watercolor card stock, measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". From there, I pulled out my Spectrum Aqua markers to color them in using the following colors: Marigold, Gold, and Yellow for the wings and Chestnut and Desert for the body.

Next, I stamped the butterflies and word onto some masking paper and used the Blissful Butterflies Coordinating die to cut it out to place on top of the butterflies and word to protect them while I created the background.

To create this background, I used a stencil and added Picked Raspberry distress ink onto the stencil and spritzed it with water that was mixed with Perfect Pearls. From there, I layed down the stencil onto the water color paper. I repeated this again with Peacock Feathers and Scattered Straw distress ink. I will say this was fun to make.

From there, I cut off 1/2" from the panel and added some white fun foam underneath to add some dimension. Before placing down, I added a border to the left side using these Scallop Borders die from Pretty Pink Posh

To finish off this card, I added some clear drops in both sizes, small and large to give the illusion of water drops.

Thank You for Your Kindness

I've been seeing so many beautiful cards with flowers which got me motivated to pull out some Altenew stamps and use. Joining in this week over at The Marker Pop Blog with their challenge of  "Anything Goes" #89

Also, joining Kathy's " The Daily Marker 30 day challenge" over at The Daily Marker where you can join in daily. It's always fun and exciting to see what everyone is doing. Plus so much inspiration that you don't want to miss.

Here is my card:
For this card, I started with the Peony Scroll set from Altenew and did a little masking to overlap the flowers a little and add in some leaves. Next, I grabbed my copic markers and started coloring. I used R81, R85, and R89 for the flowers. For the leaves, I used YG23, YG17, and YG67. Afterwards, I used B000 along with some colorless blender to go around the flower images.

Next, I pulled out the set called Label Love for the word "Thank-You" and thought it would go perfect with the saying from the Sentiment and Quotes stamp set from Altenew. From there, I wanted to add some extra touches to spruce the card up.

So I pulled out some black diagonal paper to add as a strip along the side of the card and than used this adorable scallop from the Stitched Border 1 from Pretty Pink Posh along with adding some 6mm and 4mm Metallic gold sequins to finish off this card.

As always, if you haven't checked out the challenge, please stop over to check out the amazing inspiration over there.
