MOJO312 - Birthday Blessings

Here is my take on the Mojo Monday 312 sketch using up some of my paper stash that I have. This one is called Pemberley paper from ctmh and love the colors.
Here is my card:
Here I'm using a new embossing folder I got called: Woodgrain (SU) and used the stamp set from Verve called: On Occasion.

Here I stamped the 3 different flowers from the set directly onto paper and fuzzy cut them. Used foam mount to layer in between. For the sentiment, I stamped once and than again to get this look. Also, used Outdoor Denim ink and hand drew the green stitches. Final touch is adding the bling. It was fun to work with this sketch and keeps me creating. What motivates you to create? VLV Sept Week4 - Happy Holidays

Here is my take on VLVSEP2013 week 4 sketch designed by Charmaine Ikach which was fun to work with and create.
Here is my card below:
Isn't this paper so cute? I love it!! It's called: Winter Frost Specialty DSP by SU along with Silver Foil Sheets as my mat base. Only thing, it's hard to capture in a photo. Ribbon also from SU 1/8" Silver Ribbon all from their Holiday Catalog. Simple to re-create.

I think I'm going to tell my daughter to stop showing me stuff, everything is so cute, but love seeing it all and so happy she sells it. I think I buy everything she shows me.
Love these dies by MFT called Well Worn Greetings. For the base I used Island Indigo (SU), middle Smokey Slate (SU), and top Whisper White. The black oval scallop border came from Well Worn Greeting stamp set (MFT) and sentiment from Santa's Helper (Verve).

Don't forget to check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge thread for all the details on this monthly challenge and a chance to win a Verve gift certificate plus have fun in the process.
What do you think of today's card?

VLV Sept Week3 - Autumn Birthday Wish

Here is my take on the VLVSEP2013 week 3 sketch which also has an inspirational photo that I decided to try as well since I don't have a lot of cards with this color combo. Plus it gave me an opportunity to play with some new paper I got called: Sweater Weather by SU.

Here is my card below:
At first I wasn't sure what to do with this paper, but once I saw the inspirational photo I thought this would be perfect. Here I used Early Espresso as my mat for this 5x5 card and worked from there. Next pulled out my spellbinder circle dies and added the cute ribbon in the middle. Flag it Die Set came in handy for the upper right hand corner along with some mocha pearls.

Also, used some 1/16th cork across the card from My Favorite Thing. It's nice that it's thin and able to add to cards without to much bulk.
For the main attraction, I pulled out the set Surely Goodness by Verve and played around. For the leaves, I used Early Espresso ink and stamped directly onto Old Olive cardstock (SU) and used the matching die to cut it. Than I used the same ink and stamped directly onto the DSP paper.

Next layer was another flower, but this time the color was: Cajun Craze (SU) and to top it off, I stamped a little flower using More Mustard (SU) fuzzy cut that and added it on top. Each layer is separated using foam mount in between. Sentiment is also from the same set.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Surely Goodness (Verve)
Paper: Sweater Weather DSP (SU),
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso (SU), Old Olive (SU), Crumb Cake (SU)
Inks: Early Espresso (SU), More Mustard (SU), Cajun Craze (SU)
Accessories:  Goodness Flowers Die Set (A Cut Above by Verve), Flag it Die Set (A Cut Above by Verve), 1/16th Cork (MFT), Foam Mount, Mocha Pearls (ctmh)

VLV Sept Week2 - Little Boy Birthday Wish

Finally had some time to create a card and used the VLVSEP2013 week 2 sketch and joined the challenge. Actually, I had time to also work on week 3, but will get that posted soon enough as well.

Here are 2 versions using the sketch above:
I wanted to make my little grandson a birthday card and pulled out this cute paper by ctmh called: Tommy along with the stamp set: Borderline by Verve. Added the stars by using the Starry Die (Verve) along with Honey and Outdoor Denim cardstock by ctmh. Paper pierced the spellbinders circle and sponged daubed around using Desert Sand ink (ctmh).

After I finished it, I looked and thought to try again and focus more on a little boy and came up with the card below.
This card uses retired paper called: Animal Cookies (ctmh) that I've been saving for a long time just to work on little kid cards and came in handy for creating this.

Here I used Spellbinders Label Eighteen die as my center focus and coordinating stamp set called: Very Vintage Labels No.18 (Waltzingmouse) for the border line. The cute little elephant came from Verve called: Emery Plain Jane which I colored using spectrum noir markers and gave me time to practice coloring. Fuzzy cut and pop up using foam mount.

Stars were added using the Starry Die by Verve and sentiment is from the set: Big Wish (Verve)

Check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge thread for all the details on this monthly challenge.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I enjoy looking at the supply list via pictures that link when viewing other blogs as a helpful tool, so I figured to add them to my posts as long as I can link it up, at least the stamp set, paper, and dies. Again, let me know if you enjoy looking at the pictures of the supplies or just the text names?

Which one do you like better for a little 2 year boy?

Sept Diva Dare & VLVSep - Something Special

Joining the fun for September week 1 of Viva La Sketch challenge VLVSep2013 and combining this month's Diva Dare Challenge which is to create a card or project using inspiration from a tic-tac-toe board.  For example:  x’s and o’s, hugs & kisses, squares, circles, grids, etc.

Here is my card below:

Right away, I went through my paper stash and pulled out Love Impressions by SU, which already had some X's and O's plus love & kisses to get me started. In addition, I had just bought the Open Scallop Doily by MFT so it was on top of my area ready to use for the first time.

From there, I used the envelope from the Take Note (Verve) stamp set as my center (middle) and focused on doing something diagonal across. This is when I thought to use the arrow up above and added the Joyful Blooms flower diagonally below. The leaves come from the set Bloom & Grow which is one of my favorites along with using the Elegant Leaves Die to help me cut it out.

Basically, it you look at it (Tic-Tac-Toe) diagonally (Flower, envelope, and arrow). Sentiment also came from the set Take Note (Verve). I must admit, this card was fun to make and a great sketch to work with. For more details on the Diva Dare Challenge, click here and join the fun!! For Viva La Sketch challenge, click here.

I always enjoy looking at many cards from different blogs and many times find myself looking at the supply lists and found that I love the visual pictures when they have them. Therefore, I will be doing my best to add the pictures of the supplies I use on a card as long as I can link to it.

Also, it's a good way to keep track of what I have (library). Let me know if you like the visual picture list of supplies used on a card?
