Viva La Sketch W4 - Thanks A Bunch

Here is week 4 of Viva La Sketch challenge designed by Janelle Stollfus over at Splitcoaststampers.

The challenge:
This sketch is for week 4 (June)
Check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge Thread for all the details on how to be entered to win a $100 Verve gift certificate by playing along with all of the sketches for June! All four cards must be uploaded to the VLVJun2013 gallery by midnight, CST on Thursday, June 27th.

Here is my card below:
Once again I used the stamp set from Verve called: Bloom & Grow along with using A Cut Above Dies Floral Circles to help me with the flowers and Elegant Leaves Die for the leaves. I love when I can use a die versus cutting to save time and for a perfect mat.

For the paper, I used some retired ctmh, called Topstitch which is one of my favorites. I love the colors of this paper. Also used chocolate and baby pink cardstock. For the ribbon, I used some SU 3/4" Chevron Ribbon in Blushing Bride with matched up very nicely.

For the center, I used my Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals using chocolate cardstock and my Spellbinders Ovals for the sentiment. Ink used was: Cotton Candy and Olive for the flowers and used a sponge dauber around the floral circles using buttercup. I'm really enjoying using my stuff and pulling out items such as this paper I long forgot about and adding it to new items I bought.

Viva La Sketch & Diva Dare - Small Celebrations

Once again, Viva La Sketch challenge, week 3, sketch designed by Teresa Kline and I wanted to give it a try on this month's Diva Dare over at Verve's Blog.

Here is the challenge:
This month's dare pays tribute to Diva Jen (Deconstructing Jen) who is an amazing colorer and Diva Janelle (Rain Puddles Design) who also colors beautifully, often uses paint on her cards and is a wonderful mixed media artist. So we're daring you to create a card using coloring and/or painting. If you're really daring you can add the option to add in kraft card stock (Jen's specialty), or try out some mixed-media (Janelle's style). Just remember to use at least one Verve product on your creation!

Here is my card below:
Started this card with Soft Suede cardstock as my base and went on to use some new DSP paper I got with the new SU In-colors. Love these patterned papers. Stamp set is from Verve called: Small Celebrations along with the flowers at the bottom.

Colored these cute flowers with prima colored pencils, fuzzy cut and popped them up with foam mount along with coloring Verve's Plain Jane All Aflutter. Used A Cut Above All Aflutter Die to cut out the Plain Jane All Aflutter and used MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags and Crumb Cake cardstock.

For the mixed media portion of the challenge, I tried something I've never done before, play around with painting on cardstock. I took some SU Shimmer Paint (Frost White) and started painting onto the Soft Suede cardstock. To make the circles, I made my own sencil by punching out some circles on a seperate cardstock and than after, sponged more shimmer paint around. I kept playing until I got the results I wanted. Quite fun when you get going.

Ink used was SU Soft Suede and Strawberry Slush ink for the sentiment. Almost forgot, used the Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Strawberry Slush cardstock. Give a try!!

Can't believe I've had this paper in my stash and haven't used it called: For Always. I suppose this is a great reason to join challenges, which is to use the stuff we buy.

For the circles, I used the Spellbinders large and for the center, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen. Cardstock: Pool Party (SU). Sentiment and flowers came from the set Verve stamp set: Bloom & Grow. I stamped the little flowers using Cherry Cobbler (SU) and sponged the center using Pool Party (SU). To complete the card, I used the steam binding ribbon in Cherry Chobbler and added little basic pearls.

Viva La Sketch - Great Friend & Bloom & Grow

Love this sketch and I've been wanting to play along with the Viva La Sketch challenge for a while now, so figured to give it a try this month and hope to finish the other sketches by June 27th deadline.

Here is the challenge:

Finally got a chance to play with this wonderful Verve stamp set: Great Friend. It has wonderful flowers and sentiments which I love. Also got to play with more papers by SU and will update this post with the names later today. The background paper already comes with the beautiful embossing images and it looks wonderful in person.

Here is a close up of the flower. I used foam mount in between the flowers to make it pop out more and added glitter details to add something extra with a little basic rhinestone in the middle.

Here I used Verve's A Cut Above Dies starting with the Charming Oval Die set (Summer Starfruit & Early Expresso cardstock - SU) & matching Charming Banner Die set.  The sentiment comes from the set: Great Friend and ink used was Real Red (SU).

The beautiful leaves came from the Verve stamp set: Bloom & Grow and cut out using the Elegant Leaves Die set.

MFTWSC128 - Cute As a Button

Decided to join the weekly Wednesday sketch over at the MFT Blog and since it was my first time joining, I didn't realize the deadline, which was Tuesday, June 18th at noon EST. The funny thing was that I finished the card on Saturday, but didn't have a chance to get it posted over the weekend and figured by Monday to post. Well Monday came around and got stomach flu and when I looked on Tuesday it was past the deadline.

Either way, I figured to post it and hope you enjoy. If you don't already know, MFT has a  Gallery at Splitcoaststampers.

Here is my card below:
This is such a cute stamp called: Cute As A Button and I got a chance to practice coloring with my Prismacolor Pencils by using the MFT Academy post. If you would like to view the tutorial, click here .

Also, used some CTMH paper and MFT Die-namics Blueprints 1 and 3 to help me put this card together. Had a lot of fun coloring and playing with colors. Now looking forward to this upcoming sketch.

MOJO297 - Dream Big

Wanted to join the fun with Mojo Monday sketch MOJO297 and got to play around with some of my daughter's paper that she gave me. She also helped me take some photos.

Here is my card below:
Got to play around with this cute stamp set by Verve called: Dream Big along with some SU DSP called: First Edition Speciality. The sentiment also comes from the same stamp set....I love this font!!

I stamped the flower with Real Red ink (SU) and Old Olive for the leaves. To help me cut out the flowers and leaves, I used the Cut Above Dies: Scalloped Flowers and Dreamy Leaves along with the Pennant Trim Die which is my favortie. Working on some Viva La Sketches and hopefully will be done by the deadlines.

Almost forgot, added a cute little button that already had some glitter built into the button.
