Wishing You a Beautiful Day

I'm back again today with another Birthday card to celebrate another one of my sweet Instagram friends birthday.  For those that have been wondering, my cold that I thought was going away took a turn for the worse and into bronchitis and wanted to say I appreciate those that have sent emails which I'm catching up on....so thank-you!

Good news is that I have this card to share with all of you today and created another shaker card which I love to do. Also, joining over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge with "Anything Goes"  So let's start the fun part........
Here is my card:
For this card, I used the Hero Arts monthly April kit which came with this beautiful flower set along with water coloring dots of paint from Daniel Smith. Here, I used Quinacridone Pink for the flower and Green Gold for the leaves.

I wanted to try out something new by creating a split look on the shaker card so I pulled out this beautiful Scallop Oval die from Pretty Pink Posh and ran it through the die cut machine twice using two different colors, Kraft and white. Also, If you run both the smaller and larger die at the same time, you get the white oval shape which is between the two dies.

Next, I knew I wanted to add a sentiment across the shaker card and put on top of the oval, so I thought about creating the split. To create a split, I first die cut the fishtail banner using black card stock and than cut the same shape using white fun foam just slightly smaller.

Than, I added the white fun foam piece inside the shaker portion and against the acetate. Next, I added some beautiful 6mm Royal Garden Mix sequin from Pretty Pink Posh on the bottom and upper portion of the oval.

To add some more dimension to the flower, I popped it up using some foam mount tape and than added some 4mm clear droplets, to create a rain drop effect onto the leaves and one drop in the center of the flower.

For the background, I used the grid stencil along with some ink blending to add some color behind the sequins and inside the shaker card. For the sentiment, I used the same stamp set and embossed it using white embossing powder
Last but not least, I wanted to add a little cute bird sitting on top of the sentiment, so I pulled out the Birdie Friends set and water colored this adorable little guy. As always, if you haven't checked out the challenge, please stop over to check out the amazing inspiration over there.
