VLVApril2014 & Curtain Call - Welcome Little One

Saw this fun sketch over at Viva La Verve, week2 and thought it would be perfect to create a little baby card and also join the Curtain Call - Confetti Crush which I've been wanting to do and saw I still have some time to join the fun.

Here is my card below:
I needed to create a baby girl welcome card and since I had the stamp set: To The Moon (Verve) out on my desk, I thought perfect!! Now looking at it, it could be for a little girl or boy with the colors. Also, my idea was to only use the Crumb Cake and Pink color scheme, but I just couldn't resist but to add in some more color.

Sequins seem to be in a trend right now and when I saw the challenge of Confetti Crush over at the Curtain Call Challenge, I knew I had do use some of my pastel sequins mix (Verve) for this card. Plus got inspiration from the cute photo and incorporated polka dots using the Seeing Dots embossing folder and the DSP paper stack - Subtles (SU).

Here are the markers I used:
Giraffe - CT2, CT3, CT4, TN7

Don't forget to check out the Viva La Verve challenge as they always have cute sketches every week and stop over at the Curtain Call challenge if you haven't already.

Stamp Set: To The Moon (Verve)

MFTWSC172 - For You with A Daisy on Your Birthday

So happy to get another card done and enjoyed playing with more goodies I recently bought. This one is for the MFTWSC172 challenge over at MFT. Normally I take my pictures outdoors but tonight I took it indoor which I haven't found the best location yet.

Here is my card:
During the April release, MFT came out with new hybird inks and I was so excited to see how well they work, so obviously I had to buy some. At the same time, I purchased their sample card stock to go with the inks since I wasn't sure how they would match up to what I had. This way, I couldn't go wrong. The great thing about the sample card stock is that it contains 1 sheet of all the colors plus a reference sheet with the names.

From there, I printed out some clear labels and added them to the bottom of each sheet. This way if the card stock gets mixed around and/or I have scraps, I know exactly what color it is. As you can see in the photo, I used Lemon Drop for the Daisy. This helps me stay organized especially when I also have SU and CTMH card stock.  Really loved the card stock and will be playing more with it along with the new hybird inks.

Back to the card:
For the background, I used the fishnet stencil and embossed it using Whip Cream. Love the pattern and the look. Next, I cut out a fishtail flag using Electric Red and pulled out Pretty Poppies stamp set to emboss the words in white.

The Gerbera Daisy was so much fun and used foam mount to pop it up and in between. The sentiment came from the stamp set: Blissful Butterflies and I added liquid pearl (Onyx) for a border around the oval. Basic Pearls were added as a final touch.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Pretty Poppies (MFT), Blissful Butterflies (MFT)
Paper:
Cardstock: Whip Cream, Black Licorice, Electric Red, Gumdrop Green, Lemon Drop
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Gerbera Daisy Die-namic (MFT), Fishnet Stencil (MFT), Die-namics Leaf Filled Flourish (MFT), White embossing powder, Liquid Pearl (Onyx), Basic Pearls, Stampin Dimensionals

VLV April week 3 - Little Chicks Rule with some Chevron

What a cute fun sketch over at Viva La Verve designed by Laurie Schmidin and wanted to create something for Easter as well but only now had a chance to post this up. This one is for April 2014 week 3

I also saw the Chevron Chic challenge and thought to try and combine both elements into one card and have some fun playing with stamps and dies. The chevron butterfly is from the set: Chevron Love by Verve and inked up with Melon Mambo ink.

This cute set is called: Chicks Rule by Verve and has so many adorable images and sentiments which I had to pull out and play along with some retired DSP called: Beau Chateau (SU). Lots of fuzzy cutting on this one but loved how it came out.

Fantastic image to color and have fun. Again I used my Spectrum Noir markers plus the Charming Banner Die for the sentiment using Early Espresso ink.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Chicks Rule (Verve), Chevron Love (Verve), Bloom & Grow (Verve)
Paper: Beau Chateau (SU)
Cardstock: White, Island Indigo (SU), Crumb Cake (SU), Ultra Smooth White Cardstock (Crafter's Companion)

MFTWSC171 - Birthday Sentiments

Joining this week sketch challenge over at MFT MFTWSC171 and loving the layout! At the same time, decided to use this month's color palette challenge#4 at MFT.

Here is my card below:
For the color palette challenge, I didn't have any MFT cardstock so I had to best match with what I had and used SU cardstock since I find that I use it more often so I used Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Island Indigo, and Gumball Green.

For the base and fishtail, I used my new Blueprints 13 and than used Blueprints 3 for the flower and circle. I must admit it's fun to have a variety of blueprints and combine different dies to create a card.
For the sentiment, I used the stamp set from MFT called: Birthday Sentiments and added the leaves using the Die-namics layered leaves which I love the layered look. Final touch was to add a white button with blue hemp cord and than colored 2 basic pearls with my Spectrum Noir Markers to match the flowers.

Here is my card:
Had some fun with this cute stamp set from Verve called: To the Moon which has lots of fun baby items and sentiments. Therefore, it was perfect to also join this month's Diva Dare which is to create a baby or kids themed card.

Using some of my paper, this one called Fan Fare (ctmh) and combined it with Sunny Yellow, Holiday Red, Sky, and Pacifica cardstock (ctmh). For the base, I used Blueprints 13 from MFT and Blueprints 12 for the sentiment. This also gave me another change to play with coloring! Don't want to forget, for the stars I used the Starry Die from Verve.

Here are the markers I used:
Bear: TN7, TN5, TN2
Giraffe - CT2, CT3, CT4, TN7
Elephant - IG5, IG3, BGR1, IB1

MFTWSC170 - Happy Birthday with Sunflower Sweetheart

Finally I had a chance to create a card and with all of my new supplies I just got from MFT, so I thought I would join the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge 170. I pulled out this cute little girl from the set called BB Sunflower Sweetheart since I fell in love with it after viewing the design team cards and couldn't wait to use it.

Here is my card:
All of cards designed by the team were my favorites especially one by Karen Giron over at The Sweetest Thing which inspired me to create this card. For the background, I used some Centura pearl Snow White cardstock along with Modern Mosaic embossing folder (SU) to add some shimmer.

Before I started, I stamped this image 5 times using Ultra Smooth Premium cardstock and played around. Well more like practicing using different colors to see what combos would work best using my Spectrum Noir markers since I'm still learning In the afternoon, my daughter was wondering why I had a sheet with all of the different variations, and she helped me to pick out this one.

I am used one of the die shapes from Blueprints 13 for the left hand side and colored it to match the outfit but added them under the rectangle and realized afterward the sketch had them on top of the left side. It still works.

I was so excited to use just about everything I had around me and finished only 1 card since I was playing with other items in between and coloring. It's all about having fun!!

Here are the pen numbers:
