MFTWSC212 - Sending Love on Your Birthday

Another weekly sketch over at at MFT Challenges with MFTWSC212 and wanted to play around with some more dies and a little bit more coloring.

Here is my card:
.
Started once again with Blueprints 13 as my foundation base using Steel Grey card stock and than embossed white card stock using the Diagonal Stripes stencil which adds a little bit more texture.

I was intrigued to see if I could get this "LOVE" die to fit inside the oval die and so happy it worked out. Plus I got to use this new Cherry Crisp color card stock which I love. Behind the oval, I added a 1" strip card stock using Berrylicious along with 3/4" Chevron Ribbon in Pink.

I couldn't resist but to use this cute little image from the set called: You have my Heart and color her in with my copic markers. Added some Stitched Scallop Border on the bottom and added these little tiny hearts from the Blueprints Tag Builder 3 using Shimmer White card stock. As always, I did use foam mount under the oval and under the little girl.

Again, don't forget to stop over at the challenge sites and see all the wonderful inspiration.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: You Have My Heart (MFT),
Cardstock: Smooth White, Steel Blue, Cherry Crisp, Berrylicious, Shimmer White card stock (Crafters Companion), X Press It Blending Paper (copic coloring)

SPDSS18 - Happy Super Birthday

I don't have many masculine cards so I challenged myself to make one and thought it would be perfect to use the Sugar Sketch Challenge SPDSS18 and at the same time make another card in celebration of their 1st. Birthday Bash.
Here is my card:

I love this little image from the stamp set: My Hero and thought it would be perfect for my little grandson on his upcoming birthday. I started with Blueprints 15 and Kraft card stock as my base since I love the stitching around it.

Pulled out this cute DSP paper called: Typeset (SU) and used the grid pattern which worked out perfect for masculine theme. First time using this paper and first time using the stamp set, so another card done towards my goal. My grandson said he wants me to color the dragon from the set You Blow Me Away next.

Here I used Night shift Blue and combined it with Cherry Crisp cardstock and added some stars using Lemon Drop card stock. Once again, I did use my Copic Markers to color this guy in and was writing down the color combinations to add to the post but it appears my grandson got to it first and used dark markers to color over my notes.

He loves to play with all of my stuff and even knows to clean the stamp after stamping and only 3 years old but he pulled out his big markers when I wasn't looking and saw paper so he figured he could do his coloring. At least this is what he told me when I asked how he got the paper. Now he wants his art on the wall...so cute of him.

Don't forget to check out the Birthday Bash the Sugar Pea Design is having since it has so much inspiration as well as their sketch challenge (if you haven't already).

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: My Hero (Sugar Pea Designs)
Paper: Typeset DSP (SU)

MOJO Monday 381 - Warm Winter Wishes

Having more fun again and this time joining a few challenges with this card using this cute MOJO Monday 381 sketch designed by Teresa Kline and photo inspiration of the Curtain Call - Soft Scarf. Plus Sugar Pea Designs is celebrating their 1st Birthday celebration and wanted to join the fun in celebrating.

Here is my card:
I did switch the MOJO Monday sketch upside down as you can see by having the strip across at the bottom verses at the top, but I suppose that's obvious enough. Than I saw the Curtain Call Challenge with these adorable colors and thought of winter and Bo Bunny's Altitude Collection of papers I had.
Than I saw the Sugar Pea Designs was celebrating their 1st. Birthday celebration and after viewing the wonderful blog hop, it inspired me to pull out this cute set called: Have an Ice Day and come up with this Birthday Card.

Here is the inside of the card where I kept it simple with the sentiment using Rich Razzleberry ink and stamped this cute penguin again using Memento black ink since I wasn't sure if I was going to color the inside or not.
Lots of fun stuff on this card and it gave me a chance to play with these cute papers from the
Bo Bunny Altitude Collection and once again play with my Copic Markers, but better yet, pulled out this cute stamp set that I've been wanting to color in and use some Never Before Used Stuff as part of my goal this year.

Used some Sno Cone ink to add a sky background using my sponge dauber and added some snowflakes using the Simon Says die called Abby and silver glitter enamel dots to add some sparkle to finish the card off. Foam Mount was used under this big circle to add some dimension.

Again, don't forget to stop over at the challenge sites and see all the wonderful inspiration.

Supplies Used:

Another weekly sketch over at MFT Card Challenges MFTWSC211 which was so fun to work with plus another chance for me to use up some NBUS (Never Before Used Stuff) that I've had in my stash but just now pulled out which is this cute stamp set called: Class Act along with this stencil.

Here is my card:
This is such a cute stamp set and perfect for a school theme with pencils, school bus, and cute sentiments. Here I started with the Jumbled Letters stencil and used some texture paste on black card stock and set it aside to dry. Cut out two oval circles and stamped the white card stock with the Writing Tablet background set using Sno Cone ink.

For the top and bottom strips, I used Wild Cherry card stock along with Fine Check background stamp. Colored this cute little girl and pencils with my Copic markers and used a Fishtail Flag in Berrylicious across underneath her. Lastly popped her up along with the pencils using foam mount and added some enamel dots.

Again, don't forget to stop over at the challenge sites and see all the wonderful inspiration.

MFT Color Challenge#13 - Overflowing Joy

After seeing all of the wonderful inspiration from the design team as well as the entries already entered at the MFT Card Challenges, I figured to give this color challenge #13 a go and see what I could come up with. Also, this is My Favorite Things new blog site for their Wednesday weekly sketch and color challenge so go check it out if you haven't already.

Here is my card:
I must say I do love their new colors such as the Tropical Teal and Persimmon. Plus I'm awaiting more new colors they just released any day now. Every time a new blueprint is released, they provide four sketches for that blueprint, so I decided to use one of the four sketches from Blueprints 20 to come up with this card.

Here I started with the Tropical Teal card stock and than used the Happy Birthday Background Stamp along with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and Lemon Drop card stock. Colored in this cute little girl from the PI (Pure Innocence) collection called: Overflowing Joy with my Copic Markers which I than popped her up using foam mount. Also used foam mount under the Lemon Drop card stock.

To finish the card, I added a few enamel dots. Again, make sure to stop over the challenge site over at MFT Card Challenges to see all of the creativity and inspiration. Plus have fun in the process.

Simon Says Wed Challenge - Sending Thanks

This week Simon Says Wednesday challenge is to create "something new" in which they are show casing their exclusive stamp sets this week. Therefore, it was perfect to pull out the January Simon Says Kit and see what I could come up with since this is new stash for me.
Here is my card:
For this card, I wanted to create something new for me which I haven't done which is color blocking. Therefore, I pulled out the Horizontal Stitched Die from MFT and cut out several colors using the kit's card stock . Really love these colors that came in the kit Velvet, Shimmer Glitz, Fog, and Smoke
Here you can see the new Stitched Circle Wafer dies from Simon Says which I love how you can get a double stitching effect. Here is what I did...first I cut all of the circle dies together without separating any dies to get a variety of sizes with this double stitch look and figured out which one would fit my sentiment.

Next, I placed one circle over the color block panel where I wanted the sentiment to go and placed the double stitch circle over the opening. Than I die cut the word "Sending" and added it above the word "thanks" before adhering the color block panel with foam mount underneath.

Last but not least, I added a few enamel dots in different colors to finish it off. Don't forget to check out the challenge and see what the design team came up.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Hand Lettered Winter Wishes (Simon Says),
Cardstock: White, Velvet (Bazzill), Smoke (SS), Fog (SS), Shimmer Glitz (Bazzill)
Inks: Black (Hero Arts)
Accessories:  Horizontal Stitched Strips (MFT), Sending Die Script (SS), Stitched Circle Wafer Dies (SS), Enamel Dots, Foam Mount

Also, joining the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Something New" which in this case is stamp set and new color card stock.
Here is my card:
Started with Blueprints 15 along with the Happy Birthday Background stamp using Sweet Tooth pigment ink and set it to the side to dry while I worked on the rest of this card. Pulled out some new card stock Tropical Teal along with Banana Split card stock as a mat behind it for the rectangle.

I've been dying to use this stamp set called:: Happy Banner since I think it's so adorable and love how she is holding up the banner with the words "HAPPY". I also used the matching die to cut it out and than colored her with Copic Markers. Next, I cut a Fishtail Flag using Pink Lemonade card stock and than went on to make this cute flower using the Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose

MOJO Monday 379 - Hearts and Flowers

Having some fun with the MOJO Monday 379 sketch designed by Julee Tilman and just adore these stamps! Again, I'm pulling out some NBUS "Never Before Used Stuff" that I've had in my stash which are these 2 stamp sets from Verve and enjoy having to make something with it.

Also, this gave me another excuse to color something. This week is contest week, so make sure to go check out the challenge and join the fun.

Here is my card:
I thought it would be perfect to combine flowers and hearts together so I picked up this cute stamp set called: Happy Place by Verve and colored it with my copic markers. Once again, I used the patterned paper from MME called: Lost and Found and used my Blueprint 15 for the base of the card using Kraft card stock.

After I finished adding all my layers, I pulled out the Classic Labels Die by Verve along with the stamp set Love Notes, and Soft Suede ink to add behind the flowers which are popped up using foam mount.

Last but not least, I stamped the word "Hugs" using Early Espresso ink onto the patterned paper on the lower right hand side and added a little heart using the Heart Die Set from Verve. Almost forgot about the ribbon, it's from Verve's collection called: Autumn Elements Ribbon Collection.

Don't forget to check out the MOJO Monday 379 if you haven't already.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Happy Place (Verve), Love Notes (Verve)
Paper: Lost & Found (MME)

SPDSS17 & NBUS#3 - Hello Sunshine

I've been wanting to do this sketch and when I saw the NBUS challenge over at Darnell Knauss I was inspired to use a "Never before used stuff" which is this cute image from the stamp set: Hello Sunshine . I have several NBUS and this year's goal is to use them.

This is for the Sugar Pea Design Challenge SPDSS17SPD12 challenge of "Anything Goes" and of course NBUS#3 challenge.
Here is my card:
Started with Blueprints 15 and Kraft card stock as my base and added some patterned paper from MME called: Lost and Found which is so adorable. Next, I cut a stitched circle from the patterned paper, but wanted to add some color, so picked up Blu Raspberry as a mat behind it. Added a strip of Banana Split card stock using a horizontal die from Blueprints 1.

I cut a Traditional Tag and stamped the image right in the center, but since I wanted the tag smaller, I put the die tag over the image again of where I wanted to re-cut. By doing this, I got a smaller tag and perfect to place on this sketch.

Added some foam mount underneath the tag to add some dimension and added a few sequin to finish it off along with some Wink of Stella on the cuffs and bottom jacket to add some sparkle.

Please make sure to stop over at the challenge sites as they have talented design teams plus make sure to stop over at the NBUS website as it gives you inspiration to use your never before used stuff. Again, this is one of my goals for this year.

Stamp Set: Hello Sunshine (Sugar Pea)

MFTWSC209 - Sparkles inside a Mason Jar

I decided to make another shaker card and give this sketch another go at it using dies as a primary focus. This is based on the MFTWSC209 weekly sketch over at My Favorite Things which ends tomorrow. Also, adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge with "Anything goes" week.

Here is my card:
I wanted the Mason Jar with the sequin sparkles and hearts to be the main attraction, so I kept the rest of the card clean and simple. Here I started with Razzleberry card stock and Blueprints 20 and love the little scallop border this creates.

Than I pulled out some Pearl White Shimmering card stock and using the same blueprint cut the smaller stitched rectangle. Instead of the strip across, I used 3/4" Chevron Ribbon in Blushing Bride

I added the ribbon first before adhering the acetate sheet. To fill up the mason jar, I die cut several hearts from the Mason Jar Die Set using Wild Cherry, Cotton Candy, Pink Lemonade, Bubblegum, Pearl White shimmering card stock, and several sequins.

The lid was cut using silver foil sheets by SU and made a little tag, again from the Mason Jar Die set and attached it with Pink waxy cord I've had forever. The sentiment is from the Mason Jar Labels and almost forgot, but I'm sure you would guess correctly, I used lots of foam mount tape.

Again, please make sure to stop over at the challenge sites as they always have terrific inspiration.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Mason Jar Labels (MFT)
Cardstock: White, Wild Cherry, Bubblegum, Pink Lemonade, Cotton Candy, Sno Cone, Shimmering Card stock (Pearl White) - Crafters Companion, Silver Foil Sheets (SU)
Inks: Black Licorice Hybird Ink (MFT)
Accessories:  Blueprints 20 (MFT), Mason Jar Dies (MFT), Sequins (Verve), Pink Waxy cord, 3/4" Chevron Ribbon - Blushing Bride (SU), Foam Mount

MFTWSC209 - Sending You Sunshine on Your Birthday

Another fun sketch this week over at My Favorite Things with MFTWSC209 so pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets and went on to crafting. Also, don't forget Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is still going on with "Anything Goes" week and at the Sugar Pea Design they have their monthly challenge with "Anything Goes" SPD12.

Here is my card:
Started the base with Blueprints 13 and Kraft card stock which I cut off a diagonal and since this blueprint also has a die just with the stitches, I placed it over the diagonal and put it through my big shot again to create the stitches where the diagonal is. Also, used the Gingham Background stamp along with Kraft Hybird Ink.

This is one of my favorite stamp sets called: Sunflower Sweetheart which I colored using my Copic markers and cut her out using the matching dies. Behind her, I used the Dizzy Doily Duo in shimmering white cardstock (hard to see in photo) and than added Pinking Edge Circle from Silver Glitter Paper paper to add some shine behind her.

Last but not least, I used the Horizontal Stitched Strips in Cotton Candy and added the sentiment using the Black Licorice Hybird ink. She is popped up using foam mount which really adds to the card more. Added some grass with Gumdrop Green card stock and Gumdrop Hybird Ink.

Please make sure to stop over at the challenge sites as they have talented design teams which always have beautiful cards and terrific inspiration.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Sunflower Sweetheart (MFT), Gingham Background (MFT)

Happy New Year - Sparkle and Shine

Happy New Year!! When I first started stamping long ago two things have always impressed me the most which is embossing with powders and shaker cards.  Therefore, I decided to make another card with the Simon Says December Kit and enter this into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. This week is "Anything Goes" and will run for 2 weeks.

I must say that I really like this color combination of blues together Sea Glass and Soft Navy card stock against the Silver Matte Metallic (Bazzill) which was included in the kit.

For the stitched circle, I used MFT Blueprint 12 and to get the stitched look on the metallic, I used Blueprints 13. I noticed that since I changed the way I store my dies now, I use them much more and easy to select dies that I'm looking for.

Again, Happy New Year

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Sparkle & Shine (Simon Says)
Card stock: Simon Says December Kit (White, Sea Glass, Navy, Silver Matte Metallic)
Accessories: Blueprints 12, 13, 20 (MFT), Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder (Ranger), Acetate Sheet (Crafter's Companion), Sequins, Foam Mount.
